Description |
Einstein@Home is a distributed computing project, which exploits idle computational cycles donated by volunteers from the general public, to carry out computationally-intensive searches for unknown spinning neutron stars. For the first time ever, anybody can participate in the discovery of these extreme astrophysical objects by signing up to the Einstein@Home project. This search has been successful, with 10 new pulsars discovered already and many promising candidates that require follow-up observation at the Parkes Observatory.
