Description |
Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) observations have led to the discovery of bright, point sources that have steep spectral indices and no optical or infrared counterparts. A sample of these sources were observed last semester using the Australia Telescope Compact Array providing measurements (or constraints) on the spectral indices of these sources and, for the detected sources, accurate positions. Here, we propose to use the Parkes telescope to confirm whether or not these sources are pulsars. We obtained some time for this project last semester at 700 MHz. Here we refocus the proposal on a smaller sample of objects at a wavelength of 20 cm.
