Description |
Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron stars that squeeze the mass of our own Sun into an object the size of Perth. With the Parkes radio telescope we will use these tiny energetic stars as Galactic light houses, illuminating the cold gas clouds in-between and mapping out their distribution. These observations will help us understand the processes that form and destroy the tiniest clouds in our Galaxy.
