Description |
The Parkes radio telescope has found about two-thirds of the known pulsars. Most of these have been found over the past few years by the Parkes multibeam pulsar survey. These pulsars are widely distributed in the disk of our Galaxy, making them valuable probes of the interstellar medium. We propose to investigate 200 of the stronger multibeam pulsars which do not yet have measured polarisation data. These observations will provide valuable information on the radio pulse emission mechanism. They will also be used to further investigate a new model for the large-scale structure of the magnetic field in the Galactic disk. |
