Description |
Radio pulsars can show numerous irregularities in their emission which are not expected by standard models. In order to develop an emission model which accurately describes a pulsarâs behaviour, we have to account for such variation in their usually steady emitted pulses. Recent discoveries of peculiar behaviour in some pulsars are particularly difficult to explain, and provide significant problems for standard models. PSR J1107-5907 is a pulsar which shows many irregularities in its emission, a lot of which are common to pulsars whose behaviour cannot yet be explained. Through studying the relationship between the different phenomena in this pulsar, we hope to shed light on the conditions responsible for its behaviour and those of other pulsars.
