Description |
A search of historic Parkes data, has uncovered a so far unexplained source of radio waves. This source appears to be the signal one would expect to see from a core of a fast-spinning dead star, known as a pulsar. However, the distance inferred for the source of this signal is either very close to Earth or originates from Earth, the latter likely to be man-made interference. We propose a high resolution search of the region of the sky where the signal originated from, in order that we may determine the nature of this source. |
