Subject Prawn and Prawn fisheries

Description Prawns and shrimps constitute a very valuable fishery along both the coasts of India and their increased
exploitation in recent years necessitates a full knowledge of the biology and bionomics of all the commercially
important species. Details of work already done on Indian prawns are scattered throughout a wide range of scientific publications which are not readily available. Hence a compilation of all relevant previous works on the economically important species is attempted in the paper which, it is hoped, may be useful for ready reference on previous works on the subject.
