Title Culture of sea-cucumber

Creator James, D B

Subject Seacucumber

Description The sea-cucumbers are entirely marine and
distributed from the Arctic to the Antarctic region.
They are distributed right from the supralittoral
zone to the hadal zone. They inhabit a wide
variety of habitats viz. rocky, muddy, sandy and
coral. Most of them live among corals. They are
well distributed on the reefs of the Indo-West
Pacific region. Good concentration of them are
found in the Philippines. Species belonging to the
families Holothuridae and Stichopodidae alone are
used for processing since they grow to a large size
and the body well is also thick.
