Summary, etc. Plant mediated synthesis of nanoparticles is a better substitute for chemically synthesized nanoparticles. These nanoparticles facilitate more advantages in cancer treatment. In this study, biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles has been carried out using aqueous extract of Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms by the hot air-oven method. The effect of variation of plant extract concentration was carried out to optimize the formation of gold nanoparticles by this method. Reduced graphene oxide was prepared by treating graphene oxide with aqueous extract of E. crassipes as a capping agent. Nano composite was prepared using an equal ratio of reduced graphene oxide and nanogold by sonication method. Prepared metal and non-metallic nanoparticles were characterized by analytical spectroscopic tools viz. UV-Visible spectrometer, FTIR spectrophotometer, and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope. Cell viability of aforesaid nanoparticles was examined by MTT assay against MCF-7 cell lines. Among all the nanoparticles, reduced graphene oxide exhibited 23% cell viability at 250 μg /mL and IC50 at 140 μg /mL against MCF-cell lines. Doxorubicin was used as a standard. The result of this study reveals the cytotoxicity of the prepared nanoparticles and nanocomposite against MCF-cell lines.
