Description The mud banks and coastal erosion are two contrasting phenomena that occur along the west coast of India during the south west monsoon season. Though independent of each other, both have a profound impact on the socio-economic conditions of the coastal population. Thus, two extreme conditions of nature are in operation along this coast line during the monsoon season. Both the phenomena are quite unpredictable as to where they would appear and at what time.
