| Description |
A sperm whale, Physeter macrocephalus, was found washed ashore dead at Honnegadde landing centre, Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, on 31st May 2006 during morning hours. The total length of the whale was about 35 ft. and weighing about 3.5 tonnes. A baleen whale was also found washed ashore on 8th May2006 at Murudeshwara landing centre.
