Description |
Notable contributions summarising our knowledge of the known habits of the whale shark in general, and its occurrence in Indian coastal waters have been made by Gudger (1935), Chevey (1936) and Prater (1941). The monumental work "The Fishes of the Western North Atlantic" by Bigelow and Schroeder (1948) lists several references to Rhiniodon typus Smith from various parts of the world, but there are some omissions from Indian coastal waters. |
