Summary, etc. <p class="Abstract"><span lang="EN-GB">The compounds (4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)-(5-methyl-2-substituted phenyl/<em>H</em>-pyrazol-3-yl)-amines and (4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)-(5-methyl-2-substituted benzoyl/isonicotinoyl-pyrazol-3-yl)-amines have been synthesized by microwave irradiative cyclocondensation of N-(4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)-3-oxo butyramide with substituted hydrazines and acid hydrazides respectively. The required butyramide has been synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-4,6-dimethyl pyrimidine with ethyl acetoacetate under microwave. The pyrimidine linked pyrazol-3-yl amines on acylation afforded mono/di-acetyl derivatives. Structural elucidation of synthesized compounds has been performed by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral studies besides chemical transformation and elemental analysis. Title compounds have been screened for their insecticidal activity against Pseudococcidae insects and evaluated for antibacterial potential against some selected microorganisms to establish the structure activity relationship.</span></p><br />
