Aquaculture is practised in three types of environments namely in freshwater, brackishwater and in the sea. The term 'Coastal aquaculture' is widely used to denote aquaculture in the coastal areas and comprises both brackishwater farming and mariculture. It is either land-based or sea-based and the latter is pop'ularly .known as sea farming. |
