<p class="Abstract" style="text-align: justify;">Synthesis of novel benzo [4',5'] imidazo [1',2':1,2] pyrrolo [3,4-<em>b</em>] isoxazolo [4,5-<em>e</em>] pyridines <strong>8</strong> has been achieved by reaction of 1-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-1<em>H</em>-benzo [<em>d</em>] imidazo-2-carbaldehydes <strong>5</strong> with 5-amino -3-methylisoxazole <strong>6</strong> in presence of InCl<sub>3</sub> in CH<sub>3</sub>CN media, followed by reaction of imine <strong>7</strong> with BF<sub>3</sub>.Et<sub>2</sub>O in DCE at 80°C. The newly synthesized title compounds <strong>8</strong> have been evaluated for their <em>in vitro</em> antimicrobial activity. Compounds <strong>8</strong> exhibit potent antimicrobial activity compared to that of standard drugs.</p> |
