Description Resource conflicts over land and water are
common in Africa. Herders invade farms
searching for pasture for their livestock, and
croplands are encroaching into rangelands.
These communal conflicts have intensified
across Africa and are now widespread in Mali,
Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Sudan and Kenya.
