Description |
Polymerase Chain Reaction or PCR is defined as a molecular technique wbich allow in Vitro synthe is of billions of copies of a target DNA fragment within several hour from a DNA template using a simple enzymatic reaction by performing successive rounds of in vitro nucleic acid replication withou a living organism, such as E. coli or yeast This is achieved by using two oligonucleotide primers that hybridize (annealing) to the opposite strand of the target DNA at positions that flank the region to be amplified through sinllll, aneous extension of both primers.
