Description 350-355
The present study has been undertaken to analyze the filtration performance of two different nonwoven polypropylene
filter media, viz. needle felt and spun-bonded sandwiched with granular activated carbon of varying concentration under
different face velocities. The materials are studied on a laboratory based cabin air filter test rig. Spun bonded material
reveals relatively lower emission and pressure drop. Interestingly, lower face velocity reveals relatively improved filter
behavior in case of both the filter materials. Further, a reduction in downstream emission in terms of PM2.5 & PM10, number
concentration and peal pressure drop is observed at higher concentration of activated carbon.
