Description The north-east region of India comprises of the
states of West Bengal and Orissa. There are about
100 landing centres distributed in these two coastal
states, of which most of them record seasonal fishing.
The estimated marine fish landings in this region was
4.83 lakh t in 2008, which formed about 15% of the
total ‘all India landings’.
