Abstract | Ore petrographic study of Precambrian Rampura-Agucha Zn-Pb sulphide deposit in the Aravalli Belt of India shows evidences for three phases of intense deformation, sillimanite-almandine grade of upper amphibolite facies metamorphism and internal as well as external mechanical, chemical and melt-remobilization of sulphide and silicate mineral phases. Remobilization of minerals is largely controlled by deformation and high pressure-temperature conditions associated with metamorphism. Remobilization in Rampura-Agucha is limited in degree and extent, while the disseminated vein ore could be a product of selective removal and deposition of galena and quartz from the original ore body. |
