Description Not Available
Chlorophyll reduction and proline accumulation under moisture stress at three different growth stages in young and mature leaf tissues of B. carinata hybrids of recipro- cal origin and their parents was studied. Greater chloro- phyll reduction was observed in mature leaves at flower- ing stage, whereas proline accumulated significantly in young leaves at pre-flowering stage. The chlorophyll and proline contents per se in hybrids was higher so as their reduction and accumulation compared to their parents. Maternal influence was apparent for these two characters
in Brassicas.
