THE WATER DEFICIT ANALYSIS IN THE PRESENT STUDY AIMED AT FINDING OUT THE MAGNITUDE OF MOISTURE STRESS THAT THE CROP EXPERIENCES IN DIFFERENT MONTHLY PERIODS. USING THE METEOROLOGICAL DATA ON RAINFALL AND EVAPORATION RECORDED FOR THE LOW RAINFALL TRACT OF BELLARY , WATER DEFICIT VALUES WERE CALCULATED BY USING THORNTHE WAITE'S TECHNIQUE . THE RESULTS REVEALED THAT ON AN AVERAGE NO SINGLE MONTH HAS RECORDED SURPLUS WATER DURING A YEAR. THE WATER DEFICITS WERE COMPARITIVELY LESS DURING RABI SEASON THAN KHARIF SEASON. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO PREDICT THE MONTHLY WATER DEFICITS , WHICH IS ASSUMED TO BE THE MAGNITUDE OF DROUGHT , USING AUTO REGRESSIVE MODELS. Not Available |
