Mini or micro sprinkler as a method of irrigating fields has become quite common practice in agricultural production. Uniformity in spraying is of primary concern in micro-sorinkler. Even with the rated parameter (recommended by manufacture) such as system pressure, micro-sprinkler system does not give the desired uniformity in application of water at the field condition. in this study of had been made to evaluate the performance of mini-sprinkler in respect of the pressure-discharge relationship, coefficient of uniformity and system distribution uniformity using numerical analysis. Micro-sprinklers were placed in square configuration with 3 m apart as recommended by the manufacturer for 100% overlapping. System pressure was varied from 0.6 kg/cm' to 1,6 kg.krn2 with the increment of 0.2 kgr'crtrl for the study. For these performance parameters deVeloped by Christianseh and Keller (1976) were evaluated. Best uniformity coefficient 469.39% was found with 1.6 kgfcrrt, system pressure while the maximum distribution coefficient 74,05 was with 1.6 kg/erre system pressure. This study also brings in the fact bat system must be operated during the morrirrg session in semi-arid region. Not Available |
