Bleached jute fabric treated with copper sulphate-potassium dichromate (0.25% owf) improved photostability over conventional bleached fabric. The dyes having λmax in the range of 590-670 nm resulted in lower light-fastness of dyed jute fabric. Therefore dyes having λmax below 550 nm should be selected to get higher light fastness of dyed jute fabric. Photostability improved when dyed jute fabric was treated with copper sulphate-potassium dichromate. Aftertreatment with dye-fixing agent improves the colour yield (K/S values) appreciably; aftertreatment with copper sulphate-potassium dichromate (0.5% owf) shows marginal decrease in color yield. Aftertreatment with copper sulphate-potassium dichromate (0.5% owf) and after treatment with dye- fixing agents (2% owf) improved fastness to washing.
