Nutraceuticals and functional foods can collectively counter on the growing burden of the health care system by endorsing prevention rather than treatment. Moreover, it is a matter of challenge to recognize suitable bioactive substances and identify their role in prevention of many diseases. It is mandatory to demonstrate the potential health benefits of the foods for which the health-diet relationships are not appropriately validated in a scientific manner.
