The population of the country is estimated to reach 1.2 billion by the year 2020, which will require 280 million tonnes of foodgrains for nutrition, while production is only 210 to 224 million tonnes in the past few years. To meet the need for food for the growing population of India, it has become imperative not only to increase agricultural production and maintain it sustainable. In order to provide food to every person, we need to make many efforts such as the creation of healthy soil. Healthy soil rich in nutrients will lead to healthy plants and eventually yield higher yields. To maintain the fertile power of the land it is necessary that fertilizers should be used in balanced quantities based on soil testing. Essential yields can be obtained only if the quantity of all the main and subtle elements in the land is in correct proportion. The complete details of soil testing are being made available to the farmers as soil health card. Similarly, soil testing provides information about any type of problem in the soil or the solution of Kallar's information and prevention measures. If the land is more alkaline then the plant can not easily absorb nutrients and does not get full advantage of the use of fertilizers and fertilizers. By soil testing, we also know which land is more suitable for which crop and which crop can yield more.
