Conservation agriculture based management practices are emerging as alternative to conventional rice-wheat
cropping system due to associated natural resource degradation. These different management practices influences its soil microbial diversity. Therefore present study was taken up to understand the fungal and bacterial diversity under cereal based conservation as well as conventional systems. This experiment comprise of four scenariosfarmer’s practice (FP)- conventional tillage wheat and transplanted rice, partial CA based- transplanted rice zero tillage wheat and mumgbean (Pr-CA), full CA based rice-wheat-mungbean (R-CA), and full CA based but having maize-wheat-mungbean (M-CA). Soil samples were taken from 0-15 cm and total DNA was extracted and amplified with ITS region and V3-V4 region respectively for fungal and bacterial diversity study. Ascomycota phylum was found as dominating phyla in all scenarios but its abundance was found maximum in M-CA. Proteobacteria was most abundant phylum in FP, Pr-CA and R-CA was but in M-CA Acidobacteria was found more than other phyla. Fungal diversity was in the order M-CA> R-CA>Pr-CA>FP but bacterial diversity is opposite to this, it is in order of FP>Pr-CA>R-CA>M-CA.
