FIELD STUDIES WERE CONDUCTED FOR FOUR YEARS AT DEHRADUN TO DETERMINE THE WATER USE , WATER USE EFFICIENCY AND YIELD PERFORMANCE OF A SEMI- DWARF HIGH YIELDING WHEAT VARIETY ( TRITICUM AESTIVUM L) IN RESPONSE TO IRRIGATION SCHEDULE AND NITROGEN FERTILIZATION. THE YIELD AND YIELD ATTRIBUTES WERE HIGHEST AND IRRIGATION EFFICIENCY WAS MAXIMUM WHEN IRRIGATION WAS APPLIED AT AN IW /CPE RATIO OF 0.75 IN A NORMAL -RAINFALL YEAR AND AT 0.90 IN A LOW - RAINFALL YEAR. NITROGEN FERTILIZATION INCREASED THE YIELD OF WHEAT LINEARLY AND WAS MAXIMUM AT 120 KG NITROGEN/HA. Not Available |
