In this study the humic components of OM namely, humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) for different soil layers coming under three different landforms e.g., non-cultivated deltaic, depressed low land and mudflat were analyzed using Kononova (1966) method for a coastal Block (Gosaba) of West Bengal (India). Soil EC (1:2) values were also studied. Organic carbon content of all soils were medium (0.71-0.85%) to high (1.13-1.19%). EC2 values were low to high (2.8-13.2 dS / m). The relation between sorptivity and clay, pH, EC, porosity and HA were highly significant (r= -0.91, -0.85,-0.86, -0.87 and -0.90, respectively) and negative. Not Available |
