Indian shrimp aquaculture is highly dynamic and rapidly growing food producing sector. The success of commercial shrimp industry mainly depends on the production of healthy and quality seed. The intensive shrimp larviculture has increased substantially over the decades due to the rising demand from the growing farming sector. This increasing trend in intensification and commercialization has aggravated the disease epizootics. After the introduction of Penaeus vannamei in India in 2009, mass mortalities at zoea II stage have been widely experienced during the larval rearing by the hatcheries. The occurrence of rapid mass mortalities at zoea-2 stage, frequently encountered in Indian shrimp hatcheries prompted us to the investigate zoea-2 syndrome holistically. Not Available |
