The study was conducted to investigate the effect of hot humid and winter season on physiological
responses in periparturient Sahiwal and Karan Fries cows. A total of 24 cows including six periparturient
Sahiwal and six Karan Fries each in hot humid and winter seasons were selected from Livestock
Research Centre of ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India. Observations were taken at
weekly intervals from 21st day prepartum to 21st day post partum. The study was conducted during Hot
humid (THI=81.11) and winter (THI= 59.5) seasons. The magnitude of increase in respiration rate, rectal
temperature, pulse rate and skin temperature were found to be higher during hot humid season compared
