Prolonged and uncontrolled use of pesticides, especially highly stable and persistence organochlorine group, in crop and livestock farming has contributed to the widespread presence of their residues in the environment and animal products. The present study was carried out to estimate the organochlorine pesticides viz., DDT - Dichloro diphenyl trichloro ethane and it’s metabolites (p,p’DDT, p,p’DDE and p,p’DDD), HCH-Hexachloro cyclo hexane (, , γ and isomers) and Cyclodiene compounds (aldrin, heptachlor and endosulfan) residues in the tissues of sheep.
