The pre-weaning mortality pattern in two breeds of broiler rabbits viz, New Zealand White and Soviet Chinchilla rabbits from birth to 42 days of age was studied in the sub tropical climatic condition of Sikkim, India. The overall pre-weaning mortality was found 15.08%. The pre weaning mortality rates of New Zealand White and Soviet Chinchilla rabbits were recorded as 14.89 and 15.14% respectively. However, analysis of variance did not show any significant effect of breed on pre-weaning mortality.
