The present study was conducted on 125 broiler farmers selected randomly from all the five districts of Hisar division. The extent of knowledge possessed by the respondent at the time of the interview was measured using a set of questions. It was observed that the farmers, by and large, were having medium knowledge about scientific poultry feeding practices. The differences in the level of knowledge across different farmer categories were significant. It was observed that the communication behavior of the poultry farmers is unlike dairy farmers. Studies to explore the dynamics of poultry farmers information acquisition behavior are suggested. Similarly, subtle changes about different knowledge items were observed in the different farmer categories. Factors like farming experience, risk orientation, flock size and training exposure are having moderate significant association with the knowledge scores. However, the degree of association of diverse variables is varying across farmer categories.
