Description	Case report confirming direct zoonoses due to Trichophyton violaceum from camel to human Abstract A case of dermal mycoses in a camel (Camelus dromedarius) due to Trichophyton violaceum with round patchy, dull whitish lesions on neck, chest and auxillary regions was recorded. These lesions measured up to 5-10 cm in diameter. These alterations induced intense itching and irritation of skin in the camel. The camel was being used for riding by the camel owner. Within one week of observing the lesions, intense irritation and itching of the skin occurred in the camel owner, with the onset of tinea rashes. These rashes were circumscribed, scaly, had an inflammatory advancing margin. In the owner rashes measured up to 5-10 cm in diameter within one month of the onset of infection and these rashes were present on the arms, legs (tinea corporis), cheeks (tinea barbae) and inguinal region (tinea cruris). Isolation and identification of T. violaceum from camel owner’s infected skin scrapings, confirmed the zoonotic nature of this fungi.
