Decision-taking is one of the key activities in tribal households. Decisions may be taken individually or by involving other members of the family, or collectively by involving members of the group or the community.Several socio-personal factors play a major role, while taking a decision in the family. It is observed that the decision-making patterns of all the tribal households was different. Breeding decisions were taken collectively i.e. both by husband and wife in Todas, Kotas and Kurumbas except paniyas, Irulas and Kattunaickas where the husband was taking the decision.Practice wise pooled data of feeding activities shows that the husband had maximum involvement in decision-taking followed by wives. The findings reflect that both husband and wife play a major role in decision taking either individually or collectively. Not Available |
