Chemicals (formaldehyde and carbendazim) recommended for treatment of the subst4ate for Pleurotus cultivation were tested under in vitro and in vivo conditions for their effect on specialty mushrooms namely, Calocybe indica, Auricularia polytricha, Lentinula edodes, Agrocube aegerita and Flammulina velutipes. It was observed that exposture to 1.0 per cent inhibition of all these mushrooms. Mycelial gowth of Flammulina velutipes remained unaffected up to 100 ppm concentration of Bavistin, whereas, growth of Agrocube, Lentinula and Calocybe was reduced. All the edible test fungi failed to resume any growth on chemically treated wheat straw. Not Available |
