Evaluation of various fungicides (Bavistin, Benlate, Sporgon, Kavach, Dithan M-45 and Dithane Z-78) against conidial germination of Sepedonium chrysospermum revealed that Sporgon and Bavistin were the most effective fungicides as these chemicals resulted in 100% inhibition in conidial germination. Siilarly, Bavistin proved to be the most toxic fungicide as it gave 100% inhibition against the mycelial growth of S.chrysospermum. Topsin-M proved to be the safest fungicide against Agaricus bisporus. Two sprays of Bavistin, first at spawning and second before casing resulted in the highest yield (16kg/100 kg compost) thereby gave best control of the mould. Not Available |
