Aloe vera is mainly introduced for medicinal, cosmetic and food properties. Bioactive constituents of aloe vera are beneficial for the wound healing, antifungal activity, hypoglycaemic or antidiabetic effects, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, immunomodulatory and gastroprotective properties. The present investigation was carried out for determination of physicochemical composition, total phenols and elemental composition of Aloe vera gel. The results of physicochemical analysis showed that the moisture content, crude
protein content, ash content, fat content, crude fiber, reducing sugar, non- reducing sugar and acidity was 97±0.017, 0.02±0.00, 0.16±0.09, 0.18±0.01, 0.13±0.00, 0.99±0.003 0.01±0.018 and 0.43±0.023 g/100 respectively. The phytochemical result showed that the aloe vera sample contains high amount of total phenol content (9.71±0.053 mgGAE/lit). The concentrations of 27 elements presents in aloe vera gel (P, K, Mg, Na, Ca, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mo, B, As, Ga, In, Ag, Cd, Pb, Hg, V, Bi, Se, Sn, Ba and Rh) were measured
by ICP-MS. The result of elements was analysed in to three category such as macro, micro and trace elements. According to present research macro mineral concentration (ppm) of P (213.53±1.53), K (214.53±9.11), Mg (202.15±1.70), Na (115.18±5.81) and Ca (90.61±1.43) which have been found in a high concentration in aloe vera gel. The trace elements concentration ranged from 0.13±0.05 to 1.72±0.63 ppm. Few of them trace metals like B, Bi, Se, Sn, Ba and Rh have not been detected in Aloe vera gel. Hence it was found that aloe vera gel is rich in minerals like Na, K, Mg, Ca and Fe.
