Strawberry was introduced in the hilly regions of India by the British and later became a delicacy for tourists and gradually its cultivation was started in the plains of North India. The strong momentum of strawberry cultivation in general and in India in particular can be given further pushed through a few small but high-impact interventions, which could be collectively termed “special cultural practices”. Being a high-input-requiring crop, some special cultural practices such as pinching and preconditioning have to be adopted. A brief special package of practices as presented here can help growers to obtain higher productivity of good-quality strawberry fruits with better economic returns. Not Available |
