Description In drip irrigation the amount of irrigation water applied in 2 days interval was less than crop ET but crop performed well because water was applied at 60% wetted area and the applied water was concentrated in crop root zone area. Unlike furrow irrigation wherein heavy depth of water applied in long interval causes more water loss through percolation. Before next irrigation in furrow method more moisture stress is developed which further reduces crop yield. In the present study. application of irrigation water at frequent interval O 80 % pan evaporative demand produced comparatively higher fruit yield and saved significant amount of imgation water. If furrow irrigation is followed for growing brinjal crop then the crop may be irrigated at IWICPE 1.0 to harvest comparable fruit yield as compared to irrigation at IW/CPE 1.2
