Grape is one of the major important fruit crops of the country, grown on an area of about 1, 11,000 ha, with an annual production of 12, 35,000 tonnes (Anonymous, 2012).
Earlier, vines growing on their own roots performed well since the soil and water condition were good. However, with the onset of problems like soil salinity, bad quality water and shortage of irrigation water due to drought resulted into reduced fruitfulness, thereby reducting yield of table grapes. The health of vine plays an important role in achieving higher fruit yield and better quality. In addition to irrigation, nutrition and sunlight, different means are followed by the grape growers to achieve the fruitfulness of vines.
