The study was conducted in Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts of Karnataka on the project Integrated Pest Management Practices in Tomato during 2010 and 2011. Studyreveals that use of drip irrigation, fertigation technology, management of pests and use of foliar nutrition in tomato brought the benefit cost ratio for tomato IPM farmers compared to farmers traditional practice, from 1.7 to 2.3. Whereas increasing yield in demonstration farmers was 18.2 tonnes per acre compared to 16.1 in non-IPM farmers. Information seeking behavior of farmers was increased to 70 percent among the demonstration farmers whereas less contact with extension scientists was prevailed among non demonstration farmers. The information seeking behavior was also improved due to the effective implementation of IPM project.
