60%,21%and19%oftheannualrainfalloccursduringKharif,RabiandSummerseasonsrespectivelyandexhibitedahighertemporalvariability.
Theevapotranspirationestimationtooldevelopedindicatesthatthewatershedwaterbalanceisindeficit.Thecropping&irrigationchoicesarenotappropriateandneedtobealteredtoshiftthedeficitwaterbalance.
Theestimatedrunoffavailabletouseis5mmforanaverageannualrainfallof584mm(2009-2017).Theutilizablegroundwateris30.8mm(70%of44mmrechargeestimated).Thismeansthetotalavailablewaterresourcecombiningthesoilmoisturestoreforkharif&rabi(233mm)andutilizablerunoffplusrechargeis269(=233+31+5)
Theaverageactualevapotranspirationestimatedinthewatershedbasedonthecurrentlanduseandirrigationpracticesforthekharifandrabiseasonsis505mm.Hencetheamountofwateruseforkharifandrabiseasonsmaybeestimatedas631mm(i.e.125%ofAET).Thisdemandforthetwoseasonsishigherby362mm,i.e.(631-269).TheAETinJune-Septmonthsisalmost89%ofrainfall.Hence,thereisslightlylessopportunitytoharvesttheexcesswaterthroughwatershedmanagementpracticesforutilizingduringrabiseason.
