Theaverageannualrainfallof631mmintheTavaregeresub-watershedasrecordedfromtheIrakallagadastationdatabyKSNDMC. 68percent,15percentand17percentoftheannualrainfalloccursduringkharif,rabiandsummerseasonsrespectivelyandexhibitedahighertemporalvariability. Theevapotranspirationestimationtooldevelopedindicatesthatthewatershedwaterbalanceisindeficit.Thecropping&irrigationchoicesarenotappropriateandneedtobealteredtoshiftthedeficitwaterbalance. Theestimatedrunoffavailabletouseis19mmforanannualrainfallof706mm(2009-2017).Theutilizablegroundwateris30.8mm(70%of44mmrechargeestimated).Thismeansthetotalavailablewaterresourcecombiningthesoilmoisturestoreforkharif&rabi(203mm)andutilizablerunoffplusrechargeis252.8(=19+203+30.8). TheaverageactualevapotranspirationestimatedinthewatershedbasedonthecurrentlanduseandirrigationpracticesfortheKharifandRabiseasonsis516mm.Hencetheamountofwateruseforkharifandrabiseasonsmaybeestimatedas645mm(i.e125%ofAET).Thisdemandforthetwoseasonsismarginallyhigherby392mm,i.e.(645-253).TheAETinJune-Septmonthsis72%ofrainfall.Hence,thereisslightlylessopportunitytoharvesttheexcesswaterthroughwatershedmanagementpracticesforutilizingduringrabiseason. ThetotalnumberofwellspresentinTavaregereSub-watershedasperLRIdatais171.TheGWLgraphdepictsthegroundwaterlevelsduringtheyears2008-2009wasdeclinedwhereasgroundwaterlevelsin2010wasgraduallyincreasedanddecreasedin2011-2017,Deepestlevelswerefoundin2017.
