Theevapotranspirationestimationtooldevelopedindicatesthatthewatershedwaterbalanceisinsustainablecondition.Thecropping&irrigationchoicesarenotappropriateandneedtobealteredtoshiftthedeficitwaterbalance.
Theestimatedrunoffavailabletouseis23mmforanaverageannualrainfallof919mm(2009-2017).Theutilizablegroundwateris49.7mm(70%of71mmrechargeestimated).Thismeansthetotalavailablewaterresourcecombiningthesoilmoisturestoreforkharif&rabi(125mm)andutilizablerunoffplusrechargeis198(=23+125+50)
Theaverageactualevapotranspirationestimatedinthewatershedbasedonthecurrentlanduseandirrigationpracticesforthekharifandrabiseasonsis528mm.Hencetheamountofwateruseforkharifandrabiseasonsmaybeestimatedas660mm(i.e.125%ofAET).Thisdemandforthetwoseasonsishigherby462mm,i.e.(660-198).TheAETinJune-Septmonthsisonly46%ofrainfall.Hence,thereisagoodopportunitytoharvesttheexcesswaterthroughwatershedmanagementpracticesforutilizingduringrabiseason.
