75%,14%and11%oftheannualrainfalloccursduringkharif,rabiandsummerseasonsrespectivelyandexhibitedahighertemporalvariability.
Theevapotranspirationestimationtooldevelopedindicatesthatthewatershedwaterbalanceisindeficit.Thecropping&irrigationchoicesarenotappropriateandneedtobealteredtoshiftthedeficitwaterbalance.
Theestimatedrunoffavailabletouseis28mmforanaverageannualrainfallof790mm(2009-2017).Theutilizablegroundwateris49.7mm(70%of71mmrechargeestimated).Thismeansthetotalavailablewaterresourcecombiningthesoilmoisturestoreforkharif&rabi(160mm)andutilizablerunoffplusrechargeis238(=160+50+28)
Theaverageactualevapotranspirationestimatedinthewatershedbasedonthecurrentlanduseandirrigationpracticesforthekharifandrabiseasonsis537mm.Hencetheamountofwateruseforkharifandrabiseasonsmaybeestimatedas671mm(i.e125%ofAET).Thisdemandforthetwoseasonsishigherby433mm,i.e.(671-238).TheAETinJune-Septmonthsisonly54%ofrainfall.Hence,thereisagoodopportunitytoharvesttheexcesswaterthroughwatershedmanagementpracticesforutilizingduringrabiseason.
ThetotalnumberofwellspresentinDharmapurSub-watershedasperLRIdatais2(2-Borewells).ThegroundwaterlevelwasfoundfromthedataobtainedfromKSNDMCfortheneareststationGurmitkal.Deepestlevelswerefoundin2008
