Ramgarh Lake of Gorakhpur is a natural eutrophic Lake. Ichthyo-faunal diversity of this Lake was carried out during the period of December' 2003 to November' 2005. A total of 18 species belonging to 4 orders, 10 families and 16 genera have been recorded in order of dominance i.e., family-Cyprinidae, Channidae, Bagridae, Belontiidae, Anabantidae, Mastacembelidae, Heteropneustidae, Ambassidae, Notopteridae, Gobiidae.
