Present experiments reveal the possibility of spawning of Labeo rohita (Hamilton - Buchanan) successfully twice in the same breeding season in Assam with pituitary administration. First spawning was initiated in May when Rohu attained functional maturity synchronizing with the onset of favourable environmental conditions, and after an inverval of 39-58 days, successful second breeding of the same spawners was conducted, resulting in the production of an additional crop of viable eggs. Aquacultural potentiality of these experiments has also been discussed.
