The draft genome sequence of a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolate (sequence type 1 [ST 1]) from the salted dried ribbonfish from Gujarat, India, is reported here. Staphylococcus genus-specific genes were present in this MRSA isolate.
